After a day spent on the farm, Francesco and I decided to balance things out by spending a day playing.

We headed to the rain forest, and maybe it was simply because we knew each other better and were more comfortable with each other or maybe we were delirious after hours on the road, but our goofy sides really came out. Our first stop was Mission Beach, which is actually made up of four small beach villages. This is an area that’s a bit off the beaten path and is isolated and mostly untouched as a result. Can you say paradise? Cape Tribulation, despite its somewhat ominous name, was a charmer. It must be one of the world’s truly beautiful places. In the cool water surrounding the Babinda Boulders, Francesco and I swam and splashed like kids and I discovered that he’s just as adorable underwater as he is on dry land!
