Student visa subclass 500

A Student visa (subclass 500) is a visa that allows the applicant to study in Australia up to 5 years each time. The length of the visa is determined by the type and the length of the course of study.  There is no age limit for a student visa, so if you have already apply and complete Working Holiday visas, you could considerate to travel to Australia with this visa. Unlikely the WHV, the applicant can come to Australia with Student visa bringing its family along (children or partner). You can be onshore or offshore while applying for a student visa. With the Student visa the applicant can travel in and out Australia while the visa is valid, but the time he spends offshore does not extend the visa.

|Criteria

With this visa the applicant must follow the Department of Home Affair criteria:

  • be and stay enrolled in a eligible course of study in Australia (CRICOS)
  • hold a Overseas Student health Cover (OSHC), unless exempt
  • have sufficient funds before apply
  • be a genuine temporary entrant (proof that you intent to stay temporarily in Australia while studying)
  • be a good character
