𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 has temporary changes its requirements for State Nominations for 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝟰𝟵𝟭 and 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝟭𝟵𝟬 in order to attract more skilled people to the State after the hard impact of Covid-19 on Australia workforce. Moreover more than 100 occupations have been included in WA skilled occupation list

What are visa 491 and visa 190? 

Both Visa 491 and 190 are skilled visa where applicants are nominated by a state or territory government. While 491 visa is a provisional skilled work regional visa, which means that it is not a Permanent resident visa per se, but it can lead to Permanent residency after 3 years of 5 years of visa, 190 visa is a proper Permanent resident visa. Both visa allow applicants to work and live in Australia (Regional Australia for 491)

|What are the latest changes?

The WA Government has made changes to its migration program hoping to attract more skilled workers  to Western Australia. 

As we already mentioned –  New occupations have been added to the Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List Schedule 1 (WASMOL Schedule 1) and the Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List Schedule 2 (WASMOL Schedule 2) bringing the new total of occupation to 276, including new 46 health occupations. Moreover

  • $200 of application fee waived 
  • Removal of the requirement of sufficient funds
  • Applicants must provide evidence of employment contract of 6 months (instead of 12 months )
  • Removal of the additional English requirements for professional and manager occupations (Competent level required)
  • Reduction of work experience requirement

The 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 to apply for WA State nomination should start within the third week of September 2022
