Alternative English tests for Visa Applicants 

Did you know that you can now pass the English requirements sitting other English Tests?

Not only IELTS (English Language Testing System)… from November 2014 the Department of Immigration and Border Protection introduced alternative English tests to prove you have adequate English level when applying for a visa.

Let’s look at the new accepted tests:

• The Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-based test (TOEFL iBT)
• Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic)
• Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)
• Occupational English Test (OET)

And of course you will not be required to sit the test IF you have a valid passport issued by the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, New Zealand or the Republic of Ireland and you are a citizen of that country.

While the most commonly known and sat is the IELTS test, we would like to invite people to try the Pearson Test of English Academic as an alternative to the IELTS.

We analysed the differences between the two – see the table below.

Given the above elements, we believe that the Pearson test is a valid alternative to the IELTS test:

• Quicker: the results are provided within 2 days;
• Frequency: twice per week

Downside:

While there are several English Courses for IELTS, you will hardily find English Courses for Pearson (and less competition means that the courses that you can find in the market for Pearson are more expensive than the ones for the IELTS).

Please note that for the Permanent Residency pathway 190 we listed the minimum entry level to be met, however in addition to the minimum required score listed above, you may be required to meet a higher score, should this be required from the selected State and/or from your occupation.

Esami di Inglese per applicare per Sponsored and Permanent Visa 

Lo sapevi che per dimostrate il tuo livello di Inglese é possibile conseguire altri esami e non solo l’IELTS?

Infatti da Novembre 2014 il Dipartimento di Immigrazione ha introdotto prove di inglese alternative al fine di dimostrate il proprio livello di Inglese per applicare per un Visto.

I test accettati, oltre al famoso IELTS, ora sono anche:

• The Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-based test (TOEFL iBT)
• Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic)
• Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)
• Occupational English Test (OET)

Ovviamente nel caso tu abbia cittadinanza e passaporto del Regno Unito, Stati Uniti d’America, Nuova Zelanda o Irlanda non dovrai sostenera nessuna prova di inglese.

L’IELTS Test é l’esame piú popolare e conosciuto, ma ci piacerebbe invitarti a provare in alternativa il Pearson Test of English Academic.

Dato quanto riportato nella tabella, riteniamo che il Pearson Test sia una valida alternativa all’IELTS in quanto:

• É piú veloce nel comunicare I risultati (2 giorni)
• Lo fanno piu’ frequentemente (2 volte alla settimana)

Svantaggi:

Essendo l’IELTS molto popolare, vi sono di conseguenza molti corsi di preparazione all’esame, mentre é molto difficile trovare validi corsi per il Pearson Test ed essendo questi cosí poco popolari sono anche piú costosi.
